Christmas Toffee

Ingredientes
  

  • 220 g unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 220 g white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 300 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • For garnish: nuts or peppermint

Instrucciones
 

  • Line a 13 x 9-inch baking sheet with parchment paper. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the water and sugar and bring the toffee to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir constantly until the toffee is amber color. Add vanilla extract and immediately pour the mixture onto the baking sheet. Spread it with an spatula and let it cool.
  • Melt the chocolate on a double boiler, making sure the bowl never touches the simmering water. Spread it over the toffee and sprinkle nuts or peppermint on top. Let it cool completely and break the toffee into bite-sized pieces once it’s hardened. Enjoy!
